DESCRIPTION This is a universal Fusible Link kit part that is used primarily for both trash chutes, and more specifically Laundry chute Hopper discharge doors. The reason it is universal is because with this chain link feature, you can cut the chain to the size you need for your door. This same kit can be used on guillotine type horizontal rolling discharge doors as well. A fire inspector looks to make sure that your linen chute door or rubbish chute bides by the nfpa code that mandates that you have a 165 degree fusible link attached to your discharge door, and this kit is in compliance with this code.

FUNCTION: The fusible link solution with chain is supposed to keep your discharge door open, and if you have a fire in the basement area of where your discharge door is located, when the ambient temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit, the fusible link will melt and break apart to allow the chain to be loosened and have your door slam shut avoiding the smoke and fire from going up the chute.

This is the most popular replacement T Handle kit in the chute industry for both your trash or laundry chute door. It is simple and easy to install and has a blind mount with a 90-degree clockwise rotation and helps make replacing your current tee handles a quick task.

It is also compatible to fit both your bottom hinged door, and or side hinged chute intake doors.

You will get the items you see in the photos. To make sure you have an exact fit, we recommend removing the current handle you have on your door, and making sure the copper piece behind the handle has that V Shape that we call a V Spindle. The mounting holes on the escutcheon plate are 1-1/2 inches apart. That is pretty universal, but measure it from center of hole to center of hole to be 100% sure. This assembly has a backset tubular slam bolt latch that measures 1-3/4″ that is standard for the majority of bottom hinged and side hinged shoot doors. You will also receive two keys that are always keyed alike with the code CH751. This CH751 code covers 95% of all handles in the industry. Finally you will see in the photos the commonly used screws that are compatible for these handles and doors. This T Handle can sometimes be fitted with a different screw, but these screws are normally used in 95% of all applications. You can always use the current screws that are on your rubbish chute or linen chute door if they are different.
